One new year's eve my resolution was to challenge my creativity. That once a year I would learn a new craft. Well it did change to not just learn something new but to actually become good at it.. And I cut the time off. I was never the kind of girl that things came easy to. But it was in my blood. Way to many years later I can now add beading, knitting, crocheting, macramé,quilting, and so much more.I already knew how to sketch and write poetry. I am sure I have left out a few. If you knew my family you would know why. I am very proud to say that some were self taught thanks to the internet, phone calls to family members and books. This year I was like no other. I had asked for a sewing machine from my hubby for Christmas. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it but I knew I wanted one.. Well it took my mother in-law 5 minutes after I unwrapped my new gadget to pull out all her quilting books, magazine's and photo's. That was it. So on the 5 hour drive home I read books and stopped at the trusty craft store to buy my first bit of fabric (which should have a warning label like cigarettes do), a cutting mat and rotary cutter and other little things. It took me a month to put my first block together! My loving mother sent me a ton of emails with different style's of quilts. Omg, the crazy quilts were so beautiful. So here I am today. Learning how to sew, quilt and learn embroidery. Embroidery is the most relaxing thing on the planet!!
So that's my little art bio. As far as everything else I am married to a wonderful man and I have three beautiful children from my first marriage. But we are all one huge family! I am happy to say that each of my children are already finding their own crafty path. :0)
